Jontay's Role Model
Jontay (13 years), QLD
My name is Jontay and I’m 13 years old. In my life I don’t have just one role model but a whole team of role models. These people include my parents, teachers and family. These people contribute to my life in that they guide me in the most safe, smart and fun way as possible. These things include sleepovers at friends, going to the rugby to watch my team play, paying for my education and helping me with my Home Work. My role models all have taught me something from life lessons to maths and English problems.
My parents have taught me that no problem is too big. My teachers have taught me that learning can be fun if you make it fun and my family have taught me that I can be anything if I put my mind to it and finish schooling. Because of this, they have changed my life from having no-one to be like and have nothing to look forward to, to having a great life to live in. I believe that everything that they have so far taught me, I have been inspired to do something as a result of them, like become a pilot and be a teacher. I think that everyone should have a role model as they can help you through good and bad times and guide you down the best path of life for you and so you have someone to inspire you to be like when you’re older.
I think in my life now, that if I didn’t have my role models, I don’t think I would be where I am now, which is enjoying life and having something that I am chasing when I leave school. All my role models have each inspired me to do what I want to do when I leave school and each of them have given me a bit more realisation that what I wanted to do is only limited to me by what I think I can do and by law. I have role models because I believe I can learn lots from them that can help me in the future and because something about them is different to everyone else in the world. I can say without a doubt my role models have inspired me and will always be a big aspect in my life now till the day I die.
